Still more firewall forward:

Final oil return hose routing from the half Raven oil separator with the new 45 degree fitting. Cabin heat hose will run to the right side of the exhaust. Dangling wires are from cylinder head temperature probes.

Connector for cylinder head temp and exhaust gas temp sensors:

Oil cooler air intake elbow with rtv sealant turned out very nice. To the left of that and above the fuel line is a wire bundle holding the 2 awg starter cable, the 6 awg alternator cable and the alternator field power wire.

This routing for the half Raven oil return line clears the exhaust and all engine controls. You can also see the alternator wires and the starter cable on the right.

Working on the hose routing before the new 45 degree fitting arrived:

The thick red wire is 8 gauge welding cable that I got to replace the too stiff 8 gauge aircraft wire for the backup alternator. You can also see the ground strap attached to the backup alternator and the connector for the right ignition coil. The wiring was shortened for this.

The new wire for the back up alternator:

This oil return routing had several problems and was abandoned:

The hose was very difficult to work with in the space behind the servo:

The main problem was the lack of clearance from the exhaust:

Second ground strap installed:

Original back alternator wiring:

This photo shows the problem with the original wiring. The cable was very stiff and all the movement between the engine and the engine mount was going to be transmitted to the alternator terminal and crimp fitting.

Another shot of the primary ground strap:

Taping the p seal weather strip in place to help seal the oil cooler air flow.

The cowling is going to need around a two inch extension:
