Canopy skirt and fuselage: 3 hours
- Spent two hours sanding and applying more fill to inside of canopy skirt and bulge for slider track.
- Riveted the delrin shoulder harness cable guides to the baggage bulkhead
- Glued foam weatherstrip insulation, I had cut previously, to the back of the baggage bulkhead to help insulate the cockpit. It was fun to work on something other than the canopy!
Guides on upper baggage bulkhead:
Insulation taped in place for glue to cure:

Canopy skirt: 2.5 hours
- Cleaned and prepped canopy skirt for fill
- Filled voids on inside of canopy skirt and reinforcement above slider track
- Used eraser wheel and acetone to start cleaning tape residue from the skirt layup off of the fuselage
The packing tape left quite a mess:

Canopy latch handle: 2 hours
Just to take a break from the canopy skirt I worked on the canopy latch handle including countersinking for the #8 screw and getting then initial streamlined shape started.
Rough shape done with disc sander and coarse file:

Sanded inside of canopy skirt: 1.5 hours
I worked on sanding down the micro fill on the inside of the skirt.
I also removed the peel ply from the reinforcement glass over the slide track bulge - it looks like a good improvement.
